Stockholm’s Blindside has earlier put out two indie releases and this is their major label debut. In the same way as Korn helped Limp Bizkit to get a record deal, P.O.D has helped Blindside by signing them to their own label and had them as the opening band on their US tours. Blindside has since the last album left the Refused-inspired hardcore behind and sounds today more as an american neo-metal band like, well, P.O.D. The band has used Howard Benson as producer, who’s also worked on P.O.D’s album Satellite. “Silence” has a few really strong songs such as ”Pitiful” which has been played on Z-TV. Unfortunately “Silence” tends to get stuck in neo-metal mud. Blindside are best when they play fast songs and Kristian Lindskog mixes up his clean vocals with some hardcore screams.
